What I will draw / not draw

I will draw a variety of things. Examples include but are not limited to the following:

• anthro and feral characters
• complex characters
• gore
• NSFW

Generally, I decide whether or not I will draw something on a case-by-case basis. Please approach me with your idea to see if we can work something out!

Terms of Service

Definitions:

• "I" / "artist" refers to the artist ("snowystripes", "Coyote")
• "You" / "commissioner" refers to the client commissioning the artwork

Copyright & Ownership

• I retain copyright to the finished artwork
• You receive a license for personal use
• You retain copyright over your characters' likenesses

General Terms

• I reserve the right to decline a commission request without giving a specific reason
• I reserve the right to post the finished commission publicly on my social media, in my galleries, or to showcase it in my portfolio. If you wish for your artwork to remain private, please mention so before I start working on it. A small surcharge may be applied for private artworks.
• I require either a clear description of the character to be drawn, a reference sheet, or other types of reference images (no extra charge for no visual ref)
• All characters to be drawn must be owned by you. If you wish for a character not owned by you to appear in your commission, I require some type of consent from the character owner (this is particularly important for NSFW commissions)
  • Gift art will be judged on a case-by-case basis depending on the exact nature of the commission and what is to be depicted.

Usage Rights

• You are only allowed to use the finished commission for personal use. Commercial use is prohibited
  • Personal use includes: using it as your profile picture on social media; printing it for personal use (such as hanging on your wall); sharing in your own gallery; and other similar uses
  • When sharing your artwork, you must credit me properly, preferably with a link to my social media or my website, but you must at least mention my name ("snowystripes")
• If you wish to use the artwork for commercial purposes, you will need to pay extra for commercial use. The exact amount will depend on your use case — please ask me about it!

Sharing & Watermark

• Only the finished artwork may be shared publicly. Sharing WIPs is prohibited, though you may share WIPs with your friends, just not publicly with anyone.
• You may not remove or crop out the signature when posting the image
  • You may crop the image for use as a profile picture, banner, or avatar, provided my signature remains visible or you credit me in the profile bio / description
• You may not edit the artwork in any way without my approval. If you wish for your artwork to be updated, please contact me.

Commission Queue

• I work on commissions in the order in which they were paid

Process & Payments

Initial Process

• Once you have provided me with your references and your idea for your commission, I will create a quick sketch for you
• Once the sketch has been approved, you will receive the invoice

Payment Terms

• Payment is always via PayPal
• I do not offer payment plans or anything of the like. The invoice must be paid in full and upfront.
• You have 2 days (48 hours) to pay the invoice. If it has not been paid by then, your commission will be cancelled.
• Payment is in USD

Timeline

• The artwork is typically finished within 30 days after payment. It may, however, take longer, but I will do my best to inform you about delays.
  • If you need your art finished by a certain date, please inform me about this upfront
  • There may be a small surcharge for faster / prioritised turnaround / a rush fee

Refunds & Cancellations

• I may cancel the commission once it has started for any reason (such as illness, etc.). In that case, you will receive a full refund.
• You may cancel the commission even once it has been started, and you will receive a partial refund relative to the amount of work that has already been done. This is done at my own discretion.

Chargebacks & Disputes

• Filing a chargeback or dispute without first contacting me to resolve an issue will result in immediate blacklisting
• PayPal disputes opened without cause will result in cancellation of all rights granted to the client

Work Process & Revisions

• After discussing your idea with me, you will receive a sketch so you can approve the pose and overall look of the artwork. On request I can also deliver lines, but I prefer to move straight from the sketch to the finished piece, since not all of my work has lineart. If you desire more WIPs I can arrange that with you on a case-by-case basis.
• Revisions of any kind may be requested on the sketch; however, on the finished piece I may only be able to change certain aspects such as smaller edits and color choices. Please let me know during the sketch phase if something in the composition needs to be edited, and I can do my best to fix any additional errors even after the artwork is done.
• If you would like the artwork updated (say if your character has a minor design change such as a new marking or accessory that can be added to the piece), let me know and I may be able to update the work free of charge on a case-by-case basis.

Communication

• Communication is via email, Discord, or Mastodon
• I typically respond within 24 hours and expect responses within 2 days maximum unless notified that you will be unreachable.

Delivery

• Once the artwork has been finished, you will receive a PNG sent to you via the original method of communication. The resolution of the finished artwork will vary on a case-by-case basis. Profile pictures / icons will be provided both with and without a background (transparent PNG) upon request.
  • The original source files are not provided unless you pay for a commercial license or if the artwork is a character reference image for the ThoseWhoWentMissing ARPG.

AI Policy

• I do not use any AI tools in the creation of my artwork. All work was drawn by my own two paws
• The artwork may not be used to train AI models, for machine learning datasets, or for any other automated data collection purposes

Updates to these terms

These terms are subject to change. The version in effect at the time of your commission request applies to your order.
